Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4

A new Lamborghini concept car has been revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October 2014.

The full name is the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 and it’s a petrol / electric hybrid two seat GT car. It is the most powerful Lamborghini they’ve ever built.

At the moment it’s a one-off technical exercise but you never know what might happen if interest is high enough.

The power unit is the 602bhp 5.2-litre V10 from the Huracan which sends power to the back wheels. In addition, there are three electric motors producing a combined 296bhp giving power to the front wheels together with a boost to the back wheels as well. In hp (rather than the British bhp) this totals 910.

I don’t have any photographs I can share at the moment but there are some videos.

I really like the design and I hope this signals a desire by Lamborghini to get back into the GT sector of the car industry.

Unfortunately the boss of Lamborghini speaks mainly in German but you get a great look at the car.

This one is in English but you don’t get to see as much of the car.

Models Of The Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4

I’ve been critical of the similarity of designs coming from Lamborghini since they shocked the world with the Countach. The subsequent cars have all followed a similar design concept.

There have been models of previous Lamborghini concept cars (e.g. Estoque) and the extremely limited number production cars so I think it’s reasonable to expect to see a 1:18 scale model of the Asterion in 12 months or so.

MR Collections are the first to bring out a model of the Asterion. It’s a great looking model see MR Collections.
